The University of California, Irvine (UCI) requests the qualifications of Contractors with an Asbestos Abatement (C-22) license and HAZ certification wishing to submit bids for the Job Order Contract - Hazardous Material Abatement, Project No. 5112021. Description: The University of California, Irvine seeks a Contractor to perform hazardous material abatement work that will be delivered by Job Order Contract (JOC). As described in more detail in the bidding documents, work under the JOC may include the following: 1. All labor, materials, and equipment as well as technical expertise, supervision, and management to identify, package, clean up, and transport hazardous material for recycling, treatment, and/or disposal. 2. Abatement, including containment, encapsulation, or removal, and disposal of asbestos containing construction materials. 3. Lead-containing paint stabilization (removal and encapsulation). 4. Mold remediation. 5. Transportation of hazardous material to a treatment, storage or disposal facility by a licensed and permitted hazardous material transporter. 6. Preparation of hazardous material manifest documents for waste to be transported to disposal or treatment facilities. Contract Term: One year with two one-year extensions at the University's option Project Delivery: Job order contract Estimated Construction Cost: $25,000 (minimum) to $2,000,000 (maximum) *The value for this project is based on a financial range. Required Project Experience: Prequalification questionnaires will be accepted from Asbestos Abatement (C-22) Contractors that also hold the HAZ, Hazardous Substance Removal Certification and that have completed comparable projects as described in the questionnaire. UCI reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Prequalification Questionnaires and any or all proposals and to waive non-material irregularities in any response or proposal received. Proposal Security in the amount of 10% of the lump sum price proposal, excluding alternates, shall accompany each proposal. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the proposal deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of "Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in this State."
