River Street School - Birken Campus, 1289 Blue Hills Ave, Bloomfield, CT The project scope entails the replacement of four (4) aging or defunct rooftop units and their associated curbs, along with the installation of eight new exhaust fans. Additionally, the project requires installation of a new building management system to replace the outdated pneumatic control system. The new BMS system will be integrated into and control all six (6) of the building's HVAC rooftop units, including the two existing units replaced in January 2024 and the four new units. Due to potential differences in size and weight between the new and existing rooftop equipment, structural modifications to the building may be necessary. Furthermore, roof repairs will be required for cutting and patching around the new rooftop curbs. All HVAC work under this contract must meet or exceed the minimum standards for Connecticut High-Performance Schools. Project work hours may necessitate coordination with the owner for off-hours or weekend work, to be discussed further during the bid walkthrough. The Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) is seeking qualified contractors to replace three (3) rooftop units at the River Street Birken Campus, Bloomfield and the Academy of Computer Science and Engineering Middle School in East Hartford, Connecticut. This Scope of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements, specifications, and expectations for the successful completion of this project. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and licenses necessary to complete the project in accordance with this SOW, applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to the Connecticut State Contracts Act.
