2024 Valve Condition Assessment Program. The City of Asheville is currently soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced companies for the execution of a comprehensive Water Valve Assessment. Question Deadline 09/06/2024 at 5:00 PM ET All questions concerning this Request for Proposal (RFP) should be submitted via email to Mark Letterman, Project Manager mletterman@ashevillenc.gov Description of Work: The City of Asheville is currently soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced companies for the execution of a comprehensive Water Valve Assessment. The project specifically targets valves ranging in size from 2 to 36 inches. These valves may have working pressures ranging from 40 PSI to 350 PSI depending on the area. The key objectives entail a thorough examination, documentation, and enhancement of the functionality of the water valves. The scope of work encompasses crucial tasks such as collecting GPS attribute data, coordinates & pictures for each valve, adjusting the height and aligning valve boxes as needed, exercising and recording the number of turns for each valve, and cleaning valve boxes as necessary. Additionally, the project requires the provision of confined space entry for work within vaults. It is the Policy of the City to (1) provide minorities and women an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of its contracting and procurement programs and (2) to prohibit any and all discrimination against persons or businesses in pursuit of these opportunities. Proposers are invited to show proof of MWBE status, to include NC Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses or other MWBE certifications. If not already certified with the ABI Office at the City of Asheville, proposers are further invited to become certified with the City of Asheville as an MWBE vendor. The City of Asheville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
