The bidder shall provide the original (unbound), four (6) copies and a USB drive with a PDF copy of the proposal. Electronic submission of proposals will not be allowed. One (1) set of the Fee Proposal is to be submitted in a separate, sealed envelope. The cut-off date and time for receiving questions regarding this bid is 5:00 p.m. PT, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. All inquiries must be made in writing and may be submitted to the email address Michelle Kempley, Purchasing Officer mkempley@cityofredding.org The City of Redding (City) is soliciting proposals for construction management services including inspection, materials testing, and resident engineering duties for the Old Oregon Trail Shoulder Widening Project (Project). The included location map shows the general location of the project in the City of Redding. Funding for the Project is by a combination of 51% Federal Safety Program funds (HSIP) and 49% City of Redding Street Department funds. The federal project number is HSIPL-5068(052). The plans, specifications, and estimate for the Project are being prepared by City staff. The Project is about 1.1 miles in length and includes adding 6-foot paved shoulders/bike lanes from Paso Robles Avenue to Bear Mountain Road. Portions of the project will include full reconstruction, new construction, partial reconstruction, and cold milling and paving. The key approximate quantities include 10,000 cubic yards of excavation; 4,000 cubic yards of aggregate base; 5,000 tons of asphalt concrete; 20,000 square yards of Geogrid; 3,500 feet of field fencing; 200 feet of storm drains; and 25,000 linear feet of striping. The current construction cost estimate, not including contingencies or construction management, is about $2.56 million. The will be 90 working days for construction of the Project. The scope of work includes Services Prior to Construction, Services During Construction and Services After Construction. A Consultant Services Agreement will be executed for the combined services. It is the intent of the City to hire a consultant who will provide complete construction management, resident engineering, perform materials testing and inspect the construction of the project with minimal support from City personnel. PN - 5068 (052) Widen shoulders, drainage upgrades, realign horizontal curve, AC paving and other miscellaneous items of work along Old Oregon Trail between Paso Robles Drive and Bear Mountain Road.
