The Village of Deer Park is now accepting sealed bid proposals for the Long Grove RoadLaurel Drive Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) Crossing Design Bid proposals for this project will be considered not only on the basis of cost, but also on past performance, experience and ability to perform the work. The Village of Deer Park reserves the right to accept the proposal deemed to be in its own best interest based on all of the above considerations. Bids will be acted upon by the President and Board of Trustees. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The proposed work is officially known as "Long Grove Road-Laurel Drive Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) Crossing Design" and further described as the construction of removing the existing crosswalk, construction of proposed crosswalk and ADA ramps along with the installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) system across the west approach of the intersection of Long Grove Road at Laurel Drive that has been previously produced and all necessary restoration in the Village of Deer Park, Lake County, Illinois, as further described in the contract documents for the said work prepared by Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL). LCDOT PERMIT The work involves Lake County right-of-way and an LCDOT permit is required to construct this project. The Village has submitted a signed Application to Perform work within a County Highway Right-of-Way, executed Municipal Acceptance form, contractor quote, equipment specifications and check for the facility permit and inspection fees to the County. The contractor will be required to obtain permit and submit associated performance guarantee and insurance documentation. The costs associated with obtaining permit and submitting the associated documents shall be included in the contract cost. BID SECURITY All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check payable to the Village of Deer Park for five (5) percent of the amount of the bid as provided in the General Provisions.
