The City of High Point is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the existing deteriorated roof and approximately 9 HVAC units at the High Point Museum. The High Point Museum is a twostory building with an existing roof of approx. 17,000 SF, half TPO and half ballasted TPO, will be fully removed and replaced with a single roof membrane system. There are approx. nine HVAC units that will need replacement during the re-roofing. The museum will be closed during this renovation but some events might occur in the lobby and exterior. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City Council unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of High Point of a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. In lieu of making the deposit as above provided, such bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds; conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the City of High Point upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. This deposit shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. A separate performance and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required after bid award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, as may in the judgment of the City, serve its best interest and the City further reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted Question Deadline 09/05/2024 at 12:00 PM ET Questions concerning this bid are due in writing via email to the attention of Libby Rush at libby.rush@highpointnc.gov
