The deadline to ask questions is 9/16/2024 2:00 PM CST A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Calhoun Port may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating prices in any Bid, the Owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the Bid. Bids may be held by CPA for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. The Award shall be made to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest, qualified, acceptable Bid who, in the opinion of the Owner, offers the Bid in the best interests of the Owner.
