The City of Pasadena Water and Power Department (PWP) has been a municipally owned and operated utility for over one hundred years and currently serves over 65,000 customers. PWP owns and operates an electric distribution system including associated electric distribution equipment from its receiving substations to the end-use customer. The purpose of this initiative is to establish an agreement to institute a streamlined and reliable program to fulfill PWP, Power Delivery Business Unit's anticipated supplies and equipment requirements, with a qualified source of supply. This agreement is designed to increase operational efficiency, reduce administrative costs and quickly complete small and/or repetitive purchases by establishing a synergetic partnership with a preferred source of supply by eliminating the need for issuing individual purchase documents. The successful vendor shall provide restocking services; stock high volume items, stock specialty inventory items (to be identified) and conduct regular meetings with PWP warehouse operations personnel to discuss product and/or process improvement strategies. Specialty items are inventory items which are unique to PWP and cannot be sold to other customers of the Vendor. Background The Water and Power Department ("PWP") provides electricity to approximately 68,000 customers. The Transmission and Distribution ("T&D") System is highly complex and comprised of thousands of components functioning together. The distribution portion of the system contains high voltage lines that operate at either 4,160 Volts ("4kV") or 17,200 Volts ("17kV"). Through the normal course of providing electrical service to its customers, PWP requires a variety of parts and equipment for the T&D system, including utility poles, high and low voltage cables, transformers, switches, and dynamic protective devices. Question Submission Deadline: September 5, 2024, 11:00am. Questions regarding this solicitation should be submitted directly through the City's eProcurement Portal online. DURATION OF CONTRACT The initial term of the contract resulting from these Specifications shall be for five years from the date of execution by the City. The contract may be extended for two optional one-year extension periods subject to the approval of the City Manager.
