the UHC Chiller repairs bid number 51800-eRFQ-000001164-2025 for University of Georgia's University Health Center The University of Georgia is soliciting qualified bids for the repair of two (2) 150-ton chiller units. The work will include new shaft seals for the motor and the necessary replacement gaskets. The awarded supplier will send the motors to EMCI (Electric Motors Co. Inc.) to be rebuilt. The supplier will then replace the rebuilt motors back on the chiller units. An eddy current test will be performed on the chiller barrel tubes to determine if there are any thinning or deformity issues developing that will need to be addressed. The low speed and high speed thrust bearings and all associated speed thrust bearings and all associated gaskets and O-rings will be replaced by the awarded supplier. Any additional issues or concerns will need to be discussed at the time of service. This work will need to be done in two phases to keep one chiller in operation. Work may be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A public works contract will be provided for terms review. The awarded supplier will be sent the official contract for signature upon determination of award. Specifications: The awarded supplier will provide the following services: Lock out/Tag out electrical power and water as needed Remove existing refrigerant from work area Remove and replace high speed pinion gears and thrust bearings for CH-1 and CH-2. Disconnect and remove existing motors and send to EMCI (Electric Motors Co. Inc.) for PM work. Replace motors after PM service Provide and install new compressor shaft seals for CH-1 and CH-2. Remove end bells and clean tubes as required for eddy current testing on CH1 and CH-2. Provide third-party eddy current testing for CH-1 and CH-2. Provide and install new oil filters and oil. Pressure test and evacuate system and prepare to install refrigerant back into chillers. Start up and verify proper operation. Place unit in service. Clean up work area and dispose of trash and drained oil at an off-campus location.
