Places of Worship (POW) Sound Insulation Project *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Furnish and install acoustically rated doors and windows for Three (3) Place Of Worship (POW) Properties. Work includes but is not limited to: 1. Demo/Remove/Replace Existing Exterior and Interior Windows, Doors, Trim, Siding, Drywall 2. Lead paint removal may be required at certain properties. 3. Asbestos removal may be required at certain properties. 4. Install Outdoor/Indoor Transmission Class (OITC) rated windows, including manufacturers site visits. 5. Install Sound Transmission class (STC) rated solid core doors. 6. Install and test HVAC Positive Exterior Air Ventilation system in certain properties. 7. Electrical modifications 8. Complete ancillary work necessary to reduce noise and/or meet code per design documents. 9. It is anticipated that the Port will issue partial substantial completion by POW. 10. Reference Specification Section 01 12 00 UNIQUE PROJECT CONDITIONS for additional information. Project no. 22308720.20 SCOPE OF WORK A. Fugitive Dust: All Construction work will potentially generate fugitive dust. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to control the release of fugitive dust by using a combination of reasonable precautions and best work practices. B. C. Silica: Construction work that requires control of silica shall include but not be limited to general demolition, chipping, sanding, tuck-point grinding, scabbling/ scarifying, surface grinding, sawing, jackhammering on concrete building materials, cement mixing, dry sweeping of concrete dust, significant disturbance of and/or removal of non-asbestos fireproofing, and the activities listed in WAC 296 840, Safety Standards for Respirable Crystalline Silica, Table 1: Specified Exposure Control Methods When Working With Materials Containing Crystalline Silica. Work activities shall include the following, as applicable: 1. Provision of site security to assure that no member of the public is able to gain access to the construction work area at any time. The Contractor shall maintain access and egress routes at all times. 2. In accordance with WAC 296-840, the Contractor is responsible for determining if the activities being performed may reasonably be expected to release respirable silica at or above the PEL and AL. The Contractor shall use, but not be limited to, the following criteria to determine if the work being performed may reach or exceed the PEL or AL: a. Determine if the activity is listed in WAC 296-840, Safety Standards
