The State of Illinois requires under public works contracts that the general prevailing rate of wages in this locality be paid for each craft or type of worker hereunder. This requirement is in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130) as amended. This shall include payment of the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work. It shall be mandatory upon the subcontractor under the Contrac-tor. This also acknowledges Public Act 100-1177 effective June 1, 2019. Prevailing Wage rates change monthly, and it is the contractor's responsibility to ensure the correct wage is paid. As a prerequisite of awarding construction contracts in excess of $100,000.00, contractor(s) will provide proof of participation in apprenticeship and training programs approved and registered with the United States Department of Labor's Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Consultants must provide proof of conformance with any applicable Federal/State/Local permits, licenses, certifications, etc., as stated in the scope of work/specifications section. It is the Consultant's responsibility to inquire about requirements of performing the job with the requesting department contact person. Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid. Bid guaranty may be a cashier's check, money order, certified bank check, or a surety bond. All guaranties, except surety bonds, will be deposited and reimbursement checks and surety bonds will be issued to unsuccessful bidders following the bid award. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, within ten (10) business days after the bid award.
