In general, the work is comprised of public works construction including furnishing and installing raised median curb, gateway monument wall, decorative fencing, landscape lighting, landscaping, irrigation, plant establishment, and other miscellaneous improvements as shown on the plans and as required to complete the work The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payments by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. If the Contractor chooses not to exercise its rights under Public Contract Code Section 22300, the full five percent (5%) retention will be deducted from all payments. The final retention will be authorized for payment thirty-five (35) days after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, if no stop notices have been filed. The City may withhold from release of the final retention amounts authorized under Public Contracts Code Section 7107 and/or 125% of amounts identified in any Stop Notices received by the City The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and reject all other bids, as ii may best serve the interest of the City. Within three (3) business days of bid opening, contractor must submit a revised bid bond with numerical dollar values, both in words and with digits of bid amount. Within five (5) working days after the date of the Notice of Apparent Low Bidder, the successful bidder will be required to submit required Contract Agreement and Insurance. Within ten (10) working days after the date of the Notice of Award, the successful bidder will be required to submit Bonds (Faithful Performance and Material and Labor), Construction Schedule, Traffic Control Plan and Water Pollution Control Plan.
