Treasure Bay Living Shoreline and Golf Course Construction Question Deadline 09/16/2024 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Contact information and submittal procedures for such questions are as follows: A. Please submit all questions in writing to Mike Munger, Finance Director | Purchasing Coordinator for the City of Treasure Island at mmunger@mytreasureisland.org 7.03 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all regist Treasure Island will restore their waterfront at the Golf and Tennis Center into a functional living shoreline. The project will include public education, removing sections of seawall, installing seawall enhancement features, planting marsh grass and improving the existing ponds (littoral shelves) to enhance water quality prior to entering Boca Ciega Bay. The City owns the Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis Center; this site is comprised of approximately 17 acres along Boca Ciega Bay. The City is undertaking the development of a Parks Master Plan to include the Treasure Bay facility. The goals within this plan are to enhance the site's resiliency by creating a living shoreline, restore the ecological function of the stormwater ponds, provide public education as it relates to sustainability, and add additional recreational opportunities to connect the community with the natural environment. This facility has an existing 2,300 linear feet of dilapidated seawall along the northern and eastern boundaries. Under this scope, the City will develop a multi-year plan, complete with design and specifications to replace portions of the seawall with a living shoreline. While this scope includes the construction of a living shoreline along the northern side of the property, the eastern shoreline, which is adjacent to a high wake zone of the intercostal waterway, will be designed for construction under a future project to create a living seawall which can protect the shoreline from boat wakes, while providing ecological benefits and local water quality improvement benefits by reducing the toe score associated with wave action. In addition, the golf course has two hydraulically-connected water hazard ponds, the south of which drains directly into Boca Ciega Bay; the City would like to improve the water quality entering the Bay by removing nutrient-laden sediment and installing littoral shelves and aeration within the ponds. Native plants will be used to absorb nutrients and create wildlife refuges.
