As of August 16, 2024, project is canceled due to no bids received. As of this time, it is unknown if project will be rebid or not. Work includes reroofing of the existing membrane roof, roof repairs on the existing metal roof, installation of new make-up air unit and associated ductwork, electrical work in support of the unit, architectural ceiling work, and miscellaneous other interior and exterior work. All other materials required per the plans and specifications are to be furnished and installed by the contractor in accordance with contract documents. Matt Burton, project architect, gave an overview of the architectural components of the project, then Bob Wiggins, McGill mechanical engineer, provided an overview of the mechanical related aspects of the project. Nick Huffman, McGill MEP practice area lead, covered the electrical elements for the project. Questions about the bid should be submitted to Arquesia Haskins at ahaskins@hopewellva.gov . Questions about the project can be submitted to Danny Bridges at danny.bridges@mcgillassociates.com All questions must be received May 17th, 2024, by 5 p.m. to receive consideration. Answers to submitted questions will be delivered via addendum to the contract documents no later than May 23rd, 2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to the Engineer in writing by close of business July 11, 2024. Interpretations or clarificationsconsidered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda no later than July 19, 2024 through the City's normal methods of providing procurement information. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Contractor waives the right to rely on A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the Owner in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check, bank money order, or a Bid bond The project schedule includes 210 consecutive calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed for Substantial Completion and 240 consecutive calendar days for Final Completion, with $750/day liquidated damages for each calendar day past substantial completion. The City reserves the right to be sole judge and to make the award in accordance with its own judgement as to what will best meet its requirements and be in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive all informalities, and to reject any or all items of any bid
