A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Replacement of existing windows, doors, and storefronts with new bullet-resistant windows, doors and storefronts at the District's Elementary School, Middle School, and High School facilities, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Project Locations: a. Elementary School 1) Address: 1001 Doctor Street, Manchester, IA b. Middle School 1) Address: 1101 Doctor Street, Manchester, IA c. High School 1) Address: 605 New Street, Manchester, IA Question Deadline 09/20/2024 Clarifications requested by bidders must be in writing not less than 7 days before date set for receipt of bids. Work of this proposed Contract consists of replacing a select number of existing windows, doors, and storefronts with new bullet-resistant windows, doors and storefronts at the District's Elementary School, Middle School, and High School facilities. The work shall commence per the Bidding and Construction Schedule after receipt by the contractor of a written notice to proceed, and shall be substantially completed on or before July 1, 2025, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications, and granted by the Board of Directors. The Work on shall be finally completed by, and ready for final payment, on or before August 1, 2025 subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Directors of the District Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities as allowed by law and to hold and consider the bids for 30 days after the date of the bid opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications
