Deadline for Questions to City May 3 by 11:00 am Claims for scope changes or extra work to this Contract/Purchase Order in the W. Bowery Bridge Rehabilitation project limits must be undertaken in accordance with the City of Akron's contract documents. Claims for scope changes or extra work to this Contract/Purchase Order outside of the project limits shall be approved by the Ohio Edison in writing prior to proceeding with the work. This project consists of replacement of deficient existing Bowery Street Bridge deck over the Ohio Canal and Cascade Parking Plaza. The proposed work includes partial deck replacement, replacement of existing sidewalks, parapet, fencing, expansion joints, and approach slabs. Extensive rehabilitation and partial replacement of the existing abutments is also included. Roadway reconstruction includes the removal of the ramp between W. Bowery Street and Quaker Street, and addition of a raised bike path. Bidders must be prequalified with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Questions Due Date: May 3rd 2024, 11:00 AM EDT Deadline for City Issuance of Responses to Questions May 8 by 11:00 am Contract Award (estimated) May 28 Estimated Commencement Date (Notice to Proceed) June 24, 2024 Estimated Start of Construction October 1, 2024 Contract Completion Date (Substantial Completion of the Work) 730 calendar days after the start of construction (excluding winter shut down, if any) End of Guarantee Period One year after Sub-Final Acceptance Except as provided in Section 102.07 of the CMS, each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 10% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into.
