The University of Missouri - Kansas City is requesting qualifications from firms to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) with guaranteed maximum price services for the renovation of approximately 14,000 square feet of space to create a new food service / cafeteria space, aka "Foodiverse" / University dining center. This project consists of the renovation of approximately 14,000 square feet of space in the Student Union building that was originally constructed in 2010. The project consists of demolition, relocation, and new installations of kitchen equipment, walls, flooring, low and high voltage power, lighting, fire alarm, HVAC, fire suppression and plumbing. There are branding coordination and compliance requirements for some portions of the project. Vendors must clearly identify in their submissions the ability to, and experience at, directly procuring materials and equipment during the preconstruction phase. (not through a subcontractor) It is highly anticipated that the CM will need to obtain bids and procure long lead materials / equipment during the preconstruction phase in order to meet the anticipated Substantial Completion date of December 15, 2024. This project shall have a Supplier Diversity participation goal of 20% combined MBE, WBE, DBE, and Veteran Supplier Diversity, and 3% SDVE of the GMP. The Construction Manager at Risk is strongly encouraged to include minority and women owned firms. CMRs are also strongly encouraged to include Missouri-based firms on the team.
