Constructing approximately 84 miles of new 3" - 12" pipe mostly parallel to existing WEB PVC pipeline. The project consists of pipe size, material, pressure class, and appurtenances as required by the Project Drawings, Specifications, and Contract Documents. The project is separated into two (2) separate Bid Schedules. Bid Schedule 1 consists of approximately 35.2 miles of 4" - 12" pipe. Bid Schedule 2 consists of approximately 49.1 miles of 3"-10" pipe. The project is located in Brown, Campbell, Day, Edmunds, McPherson, and Walworth County of South Dakota. All references to PVC pipe materials noted in the plan set shall be interpreted as "PVC or Equivalent" materials acceptable with approval from Engineer. Approval at a minimum will be based on alternative material meeting or exceeding specified pipe pressure rating and inside diameter for equivalent pipe hydraulics per design. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Award, if made, shall be to the responsible Bidder whose Bid, conforming with all the material terms and conditions of the advertisement for Bids, is lowest. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders may attend the Pre-bid conference in person or virtually. Interested contractors will have an opportunity to gain a full knowledge of the work involved, the bidding procedure, and other information required to prepare and submit their bid. American Iron and Steel. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials.
