The Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on a solvent Missouri bank or trust company made payable to the City of Lohman, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the state of Missouri and appearing on the U.S. Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570, as amended), in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The Bid Bond may be retained by the City of Lohman, as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the bidder will execute the Contract and file an acceptable Performance Bond and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after the award of the Contract. Bidders on this Work will be required to comply with the Copeland (Anti-Kickback) Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, as indicated in the Contract Documents. The Contractor doing the work must pay for labor at rates not less than those certified pursuant to Section 290.210-.340, RSMo. (1986) by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as indicated by the schedule included in the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to the City, Ten and 00/100 Dollars ($10.00 for each workman employed, for each calendar day, or portion thereof, such workman is paid less than the said stipulated rates for any work under said Contract by him or by any subcontractor under him. Section 290.250. The award of Contracts on this project shall be predicated upon competitive bidding, and satisfactory performance of past work with the City. Said Bidder shall be determined for the Contract by summarizing the applicable low base bids and selection by the City Council based on past performance of work. The City of Lohman reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in the bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the specified time for receipt of bids. Question Deadline 01/01/2024
