https://www.fox6now.com/news/new-sports-stadiums-public-costs The emerging cycle of stadium construction has a "level of extravagance that has ratcheted up tremendously" and is projected to peak around 2030, said J.C. Bradbury, an economics professor at Kennesaw State University in Georgia who has been tracking the projects. __________________________________________________ Design Professional Services for Project No. BR-90-2401-DP, Stillwell Baseball Stadium Renovation, Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia as described in the attached documents. Project Description Kennesaw State University proposes to substantially renovate the existing Baseball Stadium, which is in the Bailey Athletic Complex near the main entrance to the Kennesaw campus. Facility updates would include improvements to the dugouts, press/media areas, concessions, and other game day operations. Stadium seating would be expanded to accommodate approximately 1,500 guests, while also offering additional venue rental space and premium seating options. The renovation scope includes demolition of the existing patron stands and build back with new structure. The structure will include stadium gates, ticketing, patron concourse, restrooms, concessions, dugouts, expanded seating, press and broadcasting boxes, and premium suites. The existing field will remain in place, as will the field walls, bull pens, outfield light poles, transformers, camera positions & runs, and field netting supports. KSU requests an alternate scope item to replace the existing field lights with LED. Project Budget The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $9,850,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances.
