This project involves repairing and replacing part of the existing sewer system along Maryland Ave and First Street in Shenandoah, VA. Notice to Proceed (NTP): February 5, 2024 All work shall be completed by May 31, 2024. All questions must be received no later than December 22nd, 2023 at 4:00 PM local time. Questions related to the ITB or requests for clarification shall be directed to Mr. Troy Cave, Project Engineer, by email to tcave@raceyengineering.com. Oral questions will not be permitted. It is the responsibility of all Bidders to ensure that they have received all addenda and to include signed copies of any and all addenda with their bid submission. Bids shall be accompanied by a five percent (5%) bid bond. Bid security must be in the form of a cashier's check, certified check or a bid bond issued by a surety. Prior to signing the Contract, the Owner will require the successful bidder to secure and post a Labor and Materials Payment Bond and a Performance Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum. Such Bonds shall be issued by a Surety acceptable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to retain the security of all bidders until the successful bidder enters into the Contract or until 90 days after bid opening, whichever is sooner. Other bid security will be returned as soon as practicable. If any bidder refuses to enter into a Contract, the bid security may be forfeited. The Agreement includes a stipulation that all Work be completed by a specified date (see section 0501). Liquidated damages will not be applied. The contractor is not to begin work until the receipt of the Owner's Notice to Proceed which will be effective upon receipt.
