The City's Council Chamber serves as the hub for public meetings, ensuring transparency, fostering community engagement, and upholding the City's obligation under the Brown Act. The audio-video system plays a critical role in ensuring that these meetings are accessible to the public, both in-person and remotely. The existing audio-video equipment in the Council Chamber is over a decade old. While it has served the City well in the past, it has now reached the end of its service life. The challenges posed by this aging equipment are manifold. Unpredictability: As with any aging electronic system, the current equipment has become unreliable. This unpredictability can lead to disruptions during critical meetings, potentially impacting the City's commitment to transparency. Technical Obsolescence: Technology has evolved rapidly over the past decade. The current system, being over 10 years old, is technically outdated and lacks the features and capabilities of modern AV systems. Evolving Needs: The City's requirements have changed. With the need for hybrid public meetings, the existing system falls short of meeting these new demands.
