Biloxi Building 1 Renovation Industry Day -- Y1AZ This is a Special Announcement for an Industry Day Forum for the Office of Facilities and Construction Management's Building 1 Renovation Project. PROJECT DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND The Building 1 Renovation is a design/bid/build project for exterior building envelope performance alterations and renovation of Building 1 third, fourth and fifth floors and attic, totaling 54,370 gsf. It is the intent and objective of the VA to obtain Contractor services including labor, material, equipment, and supervision required to provide building envelope alterations/improvements and renovate the third, fourth and fifth floor and attic of the building. Also included is upgrading the interior utilities, which include replacement of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, chilled water systems and modifications to fire protection systems. Project will include monitoring of existing foundation system by outside consultant under separate contract throughout the project. Sustainable design principles will be included in the construction of the projects in accordance with Executive Orders and other laws. Facilities will incorporate LEED strategies and comply with Energy Policy Acts. Low Impact Development will be included in the construction of this project where applicable. The Industry Day is intended to provide background and general information on the project and will be used for market research to give the Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) the opportunity to engage contractors to determine overall interest, communicate with industry to better understand the current construction market, increase knowledge of industry standards, pricing and possible available technologies, attract new contractors, engage with potential contractors that can provide capabilities necessary to achieve the project goals.
