RFP Village of Frankfort Demolition Project. Proposals provided via fax will not be considered or accepted. The Village of Frankfort reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. SCOPE OF WORK - DEMOLITION & SITE CLEARANCE The awarded contractor shall demolish and remove all above and below ground debris and appurtenances including, but not limited to: The main structure (roughly 1,800-2,000 square foot structure) and/or any attached structures (roughly 480 square foot attached garage). Removal of all basements, footings, foundations, floors, porches, private service walks, concrete flatwork and debris of any kind. Contractor shall provide for the removal of the asphalt driveway (roughly 1,200 square feet). Contractor is required to cut and cap the sanitary service line, as well as terminate the water service at the buffalo box. This work shall be inspected by our Utility Department. No debris shall be left or buried onsite. Demolition methods must include means of controlling dust generated during the demolition process. The awarded contractor must include a way of wetting the material, prior to the commencement of demolition and throughout the duration of the demolition process. Any wells, septic systems or cisterns found during excavation are required to be decommissioned, pursuant to the standards of the Will County Health Department. All removal from this site of debris, rubbish, and other materials resulting from demolition operations must be disposed of in a legal manner and pursuant to the awarded court order. Excavated areas associated with the removal of all substructures shall be backfilled with clay, provided by the awarded contractor, up to 6 inches from finish grade. Contractor will be responsible for acquiring, hauling, dumping and spreading of this clay material. Clay shall be compacted in 12-inch lifts. The final 6 inches shall consist of topsoil, which is also to be provided by the awarded contractor. Excavated areas are required to be graded to prevent any depressional or ponding areas and promote the adequate flow of stormwater run-off. Contractor will be responsible for the installation of grass seed and matting. REJECTION OF PROPOSAL: The Village of Frankfort reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to make award to the response deemed the most advantageous to the Village. Any proposals not conforming with the specifications or requirements set forth by the Village proposal request may be rejected. Proposals may also be rejected if they are made by a bidder that is deemed unqualified due to a lack of references, experience, or quality of services. AWARD OF PROPOSAL A tabulation of bids will be prepared, and a recommendation made by Village staff to enter into a contract with the bidder will be provided.
