Hartsville Middle School (HMS) Cafe' HVAC. It is the intent of the Darlington County School District to secure a source to replace HVAC unit at Hartsville Middle School Caf located at 1427 14th Street, Hartsville, SC 29550 II. Scope of Work It is the intent of the Darlington county school district to replace (2) existing 20 ton carrier heat pumps located in the cafe at HMS. The current units Carrier brand, have four condensing units are located on ground level running with two air handlers located above a dry storage supply room located above the kitchen area. The new units will be: (2) 20 Ton Heat Pump Condensers with R410a refrigerant (2) 20 Ton Air Handlers with 30 KW heat strips The new units must be Trane, (American Standard) or Carrier, (ICP). The existing disconnects may be re-used for the new units. Please include hail guards on the condenser units. The new unit must include 30kw heat strips for 2 nd stage heat. The DCSD will use existing control wiring. We will also use existing thermostats. The DCSD will require the existing copper line sets to be changed out with the new units. The current line set size is 1 1/8" X 5/8". New line sets must include new insulation with proper hangers and brackets. The current duct work and sheet metal must reconnect to the new system. New air handler stands are to be included. New drain pans with float switches need to be installed as well as new drain lines with adequate slope. A Lull or crane will be required to set new units. All holes caused or uncovered during installation must be properly sealed back up. All safety precautions must be kept to protect students, staff, as well as parents. Old equipment and debris must be cleaned up and hauled away by the contractor. All materials and supplies used to install/replace this unit must be furnished and installed by the contractor and included in this bid.
