This project is included in the City of Framingham 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 24, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is being allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not yet been released. This request for capital budget funding is for the design of roof replacements at Potter Road and Barbieri Elementary Schools. These roofs are in poor condition and rapidly deteriorating. Additionally, the warranty for Brophy expired on September 6, 2022; and Potter Road is set to expire in August of 2023. Both of these warranties were extended for an additional 5 years through Tremco, our roof warranty contractor. Currently, both of these roofs are experiencing moisture infiltration and deterioration that is requiring full replacement in order to ensure the continued usage of the school. The Department has submitted a statement of interest to the MSBA for the accelerated repair program for the Potter Road roof replacement. However, as part of the MSBA program, the City is required to allocate full project costs within a given timeline, which this funding request would accomplish. Funding for construction of these roofs will be requested through our FY2025 capital budget proposal. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
