This project includes but is not limited to the following: The metal roof restorationon the Welding ShADVERTISEMENT FOR PREQUALIFICATION op on theNorthwest Shoals Community College, Phil Campbell Campus. The Owner intends to award a single contract toa single contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from prequalifiedfirms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this Project. Interested General Contractors must submit a ContractorsQualification Statement showing minimum qualifications to be certified by prospective bidders to include but not limited to: 1) statutory licensure requirements, 2) proof, in the form of a letter from a licensed bonding agent, of current bonding capacity in excess of Four Hundred Thousand dollars, 3) minimum of 5 years in operation as a General Contractor under the same company name 4) minimum annual volume of 1 million dollars in construction value for each of the past three years and at least three (3) construction projects of a similar size and scope to this project completed during the last twenty-four (24) months 5) Submit all prequalified information required to Tammy Gresham in the Facilities and Operations Department, Administration Building 100, Room 103 located at 800 George Wallace Blvd., Muscle Shoals,Alabama 35661 before the bid opening. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence oflicense before bidding or bid will not be received or considered; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Northwest Shoals Community College in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidders proposal. Bidders must submit with the proposal a letter from an Insurance Carrier approved by the State of Alabama as evidence of insurability. Performance Bond valued at 100% of the contract amount and Payment Bond valued at 50% of the contract amount will be required at the signing of the Contract. The State of Alabama passed new legislation effective January 1, 2012 known as the BeasonHammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, Act No. 2011-535.
