Chester Wastewater Improvements - 2023 The proposed work includes two schedules. Schedule I includes improvements to the Chester wastewater collection and treatment system, with improvements at the existing lagoons site and installation of several new manholes in various locations around town. Collection system improvement include replacing approximately 390-feet of gravity sewer in the alley south of Casey St between 1st Street E and 2nd Street E., and installation of seven (7) new manholes on stub ends of existing sewer mains. Treatment system improvements include sludge removal from Cell 1 of the existing wastewater lagoon cells, removal of existing and installation of a new flow structure and influent flow splitter structure, removal of the Cell 1 outlet, Cell 1 alternate outlet, Cell 2 outlet, and Cell 3 inlet, and replacing existing 10" gate valves with 5 new 10" plug valves and fittings. At the existing lagoon site lift station, installation of new lift station flowmeter, removal and replacement of existing rock basket, and lining of the existing wet well. The multi-level outlet structure at the effluent of Cell 3 is to be lined and the existing depth gauge in the outfall flume is to be removed and replaced. Schedule II includes a Base Bid of CIPP lining of an approximate 1,750 LF of 10" diameter clay pipe as well as three additive alternates. Additive Alternate #1 includes CIPP lining of approximately 1,540 LF of 8" diameter pipe including 910 LF of concrete pipe and 630 LF of clay pipe. Additive Alternate #2 includes CIPP lining of approximately 480 LF 8" diameter clay pipe, and Additive Alternate #3 includes CIPP lining of approximately 860 LF of 8" diameter clay pipe.
