County Storm water Project. The County of Spokane, in Accordance With the Provisions of Title Vi of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252,42 U.s.c. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, Hereby Notifies All Bidders That It Will Affirmatively Ensure That Any Contract Entered Into Pursuant to This Advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Will Be Afforded Full and Fair Opportunity to Submit Bids in Response to This Invitation and Will Not Be Discriminated Against on the Grounds of Race, Color, or National Origin In Consideration for an Award. No Bid May Be Considered for Public Work Unless It is Accompanied by a Bid Deposit in the Form of a Surety Bond, Postal Money Order, Case, Cashiers Check or Certified Check in an Amount Equal to Five Percent (5%) of the Amount of the Bid Proposed. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required to File a Performance Bond in the Full Amount of the Contract Price Which Bond Shall Be Furnished by a Surety Company Acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners. Recent Analysis Has Revealed That as Many as 30% of the Bid Surety Bonds Submitted on Public Works Projects Are Potentially Fatally Flawed as the Contain Qualifications to the 5% Forfeiture Penalty Mandated by Rcw 36.32.250. The Board of County Commissioners Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids or Any Part of a Single Bid and To Waive All Informalities in the Bidding. the improvement of Richland Road, Blackberry Street, Strawberry Street, Barberry Avenue, Raspberry Avenue, Fruitvale Road, and January Drive in Section 7 in Township 24 N., Range 42 E. W.M. by construction of storm sewer system including catch basin type 1, catch basin type 2, precast concrete manholes, 24-inch profile wall PVC pipe, 15-inch solid wall PVC pipe, 12-inch solid wall PVC pipe, 12-inch ductile iron pipe, 6-inch side service connections, 6-inch swale underdrain pipe, cutoff wall/pipe anchors, unsuitable pipe foundation, imported backfill, dewatering, concrete curb, crushed surfacing, HMA paving, project temporary traffic control and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
