All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier's or certified check, or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the City of Yelm. The City of Yelm reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waiver any informalities in the bidding. This project consists of converting decommissioned railroad to a shared use path. The work includes excavation to desired grade, filling, paving, widening for look-out area, installation of a bench, installation of viewing binoculars, and all other work all in accordance with the Contract Plans, Special Provisions, and the WSDOT Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction and the City of Yelm Standard Drawings and Specifications. Time for completion of this project is 40 Working Days. The Engineer's base estimate is approximately $380,000 to $450,000. All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents.
