The installation of a 45' engineered self-supporting steel pole on a concrete pier foundation, and the stringing of approximately 0.74 miles of 7.2/12.47 kV overhead powerline, to include the supply of necessary labor and equipment for the COS Hollywood Rd Line Relocation Project will be received by the City of Safford. All materials will be Owner furnished, with the exception of concrete and rebar. Work is expected to commence in January 2024. All bidders must have a Bidders Qualification Statement on file with the Engineer, without exception. The forms, available from the Engineer, must be in the Engineer's office ten (10) days prior to the scheduled bid opening. Bids will not be considered unless the Qualifications forms are on file as provided herein. Each bidder must deposit with their bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Attention is called to the requirements of a Power of Attorney of any surety bond and the fact that any surety must appear on the most current list of sureties listed by the United States Treasury Department as Acceptable Sureties. The commencement date of construction of the project shall be no later than 30 days after Approval of the Contract by the Owner, pending material availability. Approval by City Council, if granted, is expected to be made on December 11th , 2023. Execution of a contract by the City Attorney will be subsequent to that. Construction shall be completed within 45 calendar days after the commencement date. Liquidated damages of $100.00 per day shall be assessed as provided for in Article V, Section 2 of the Contractor's proposal. City of Safford reserves the right to waive any informality or reject any and all bids.
