Scope of Services The work generally consists of relining Tank 1 and minor tank appurtenant work. WORK TO BE DONE. The work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all plant, tools, equipment, materials, machinery, supplies and manufactured articles, and for furnishing all transportation, services, including fuel, power and water and essential communications, and the performance of all labor, work or other operations required for the fulfillment of the Contract, in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules and drawings, all of which are made a part hereof, and including such detailed sketches as may be furnished by the Engineer from time to time during the construction in explanation of said drawings. The work shall be complete, and all work material and services not expressly called for in the specifications, or not shown on the drawings which may be necessary for complete and proper construction to carry out the Contract in good faith, shall be performed, furnished and installed by the Contractor at no increase in cost to the Agency the purpose of this specification is to establish the requirements for the relining and minor exterior paint repair of the Park Hills Water Storage Tank No. 1, a 1,250,000-gallon welded steel potable water storage tank owned and operated by the City of Hemet. 1.02 SCOPE OF WORK A. Provide and pay for all labor, equipment, materials, machinery, facilities, and services necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications. B. The work includes the surface preparation and application of protective coatings to all specified surfaces of the tank structure, including all attachments, appurtenances, and accessories. The work includes all costs for the proper removal and disposal of all waste generated on the project. C. The work to be accomplished includes the complete removal of all existing interior linings and replacement with an NSF61 certified liner. The new lining system within the vapor area shall be an organic zinc-rich primer followed by two coats of epoxy. The immersed areas shall be lined with a two-coat epoxy system. As part of this effort the contractor shall apply caulking to any internal interfaces or crevices (e.g., roof plate lap seams) that preclude proper liquid coating application. D. The exterior paint work to be accomplished includes the spot paint repair with an epoxy/urethane system to areas of the tank that have been retrofitted and any spot defect within the lowest 8-feet of the shell. E. The work to be accomplished may include a limited amount of grinding of sharp edges that have resulted from corrosion. All sharp edges shall be ground or otherwise radiused, as required by the Engineer in accordance with NACE SP0178. Up to 10 linear feet of grinding may be required. F. The work to be accomplished includes the removal of sediment, including small piles of spent anode debris from the tank bottom. It is projected that less than 1.5-inch of sediment may be present.
