Bidder inquiries are to be directed to James Connaughton, Associate Engineer, at the City of Napa Capital Improvement Engineering Division at: Telephone No.: (707) 257-9408 ext. 7408 E-mail: jconnaughton@cityofnapa.org The work generally consists of installing a backflow preventer to both of Kennedy Golf Course's 8" diameter recycled water service connections. The work will involve intercepting the existing 8" recycled water laterals and bypassing the flow through reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies directly downstream of the existing meters. Minor concrete removal and reconstruction will be necessary to access the laterals to make the points of connection and to restore the golf cart path affected by the construction. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. You must possess a Class A license at the time bids are opened A scanned copy of a certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of City of Napa, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory bid bond executed by you and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of bid, must be submitted (scanned) with each bid. The hard copy version shall be submitted upon further notice from the City The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment (Labor and Materials) Bonds and are required to comply with the insurance requirements set forth in these Special Provisions Chapter 2.92 of the Napa Municipal Code requires every Contractor or subcontractor with the City of Napa for Public Works Contracts in the sum of $25,000 or more, be subject to Section 101, Napa City Charter. This requires the Contractor to take affirmative action to ensure non-discriminatory employment practices. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the County, or Counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at City of Napa and available from the California Department of Industrial Relations' Internet web site at Director's Office of Policy, Research and Legislation (OPRL) public works information (ca.qov). Future effective general prevailing wage rates, which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in the general prevailing wage rates. The City of Napa reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
