Valley View Ferry Barge Replacement Design Services Question Deadline: 10/20/2023 12:00 PM (ET) The Valley View Ferry Authority, P.O. Box 856, Nicholasville KY, 40356; is requesting proposals for professional services of a Naval Architect or Naval Engineer to develop plans for construction of a small river ferry barge to replace the existing Valley View Ferry COI vessel #1110613. The current vessel is in operation at the end of Kentucky Highway 169, Mile point 157.8 of the Kentucky River (Exhibit A). The replacement barge design plans will be required to meet statutory and non-statutory requirements for vessels under 100 gross tons in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 46, Subchapter T (Parts 175-185). The designer will also be required to arrange four inspections during the building process as required by USCG regulations and make monthly progress reports to the Valley View Ferry Authority. The project will require the design Consultant to work with the United States Coast Guard for approval of design, the scope of services, preliminary and final design. Source of the funding for the design project is the Federal High Way Administration Ferry Boat Program Fund Grant. The design project will be administered under the Valley View Ferry Authority (VVFA).
