PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Department maintains the County Maintained Road System, Special Districts facilities, and the District maintains regional flood control facilities throughout the entire County. Therefore, extensive travel may be required for some projects. Transportation, flood control, and Board Governed Special Districts projects may include, but are not limited to, the construction of: 1) new roadways; 2) roadway extensions; 3) roadway widening or rehabilitation; 4) sidewalk, curb, and gutter; 5) signal installation; 6) culverts and other drainage improvements; 7) grade separations; 8) flood control channel improvements; 9) flood control basins and basin upgrades; 10) routine flood control and road maintenance and emergency repairs; and 11) spillway and other flood control facility improvements;12) conservation and preserve areas improvements; 13) Improvements within and around water bodies; 14) Parks projects. The Department, District, and Board Governed Special Districts (collectively referred to as "County") are each regulated by numerous federal, state and local agencies. Oversight agencies may include, but are not limited to: three California Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCB) (i.e., Lahontan Region, Santa Ana Region and Colorado River Region), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers LA District, CDFW Region 6, USFWS Ventura and Palm Desert Offices, Caltrans District 8, CalRecycle, the LEA and two Air Quality Management Districts (South Coast and Mojave). Below are examples of projects for the County that may require environmental support services during the term of this on-call Contract. The County reserves the right to add other projects to this list and/or use consultants not procured through this RFP for one or more of these projects.
