The Towns of Dedham, Dover, Wellesley, Weston, and Westwood, Massachusetts cooperatively, acting through the Town of Wellesley Board of Public Works All bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope plainly marked: "Bid on Sodium Chloride (Road Salt & Solar) - Furnished and Delivered - CONTRACT #24S-420-1721 This contract shall be made available for the purchase of said materials to all Towns in the cooperative and their other Town Departments and Boards. Each Town will be responsible for its own contract and/or purchase orders with the successful vendor. All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. c.30B, F.O.B. Destination inside the designated department as designated by the Bid Participants. The Town will reject any and all bids in accordance with the above-referenced General Laws. No such envelope shall contain more than one proposal. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to accept any bid item or combination of bid items or reject any or all proposals, as in its sole judgment, the best interest of the Cooperative would be served by so doing. Scope The Purpose of This Solicitation is to Establish and Award a Contract for the Furnishing and Delivery of Sodium Chloride (Rock Salt and Solar Salt) as Required by the Towns Named Previously in the Cooperative. The Acquisition of Sodium Chloride Will Help Maintain the Town's Roadways During the Snow and Ice Season. However, the Town Reserves the Right to Order Sodium Chloride During the Contract Period, Regardless of the Season, at the Same Price Contracted Through This Invitation for Bids. It is the Goal to Have the Salt Delivered in a Timely Fashion That Allows the Town to Keep Adequate Levels of Salt Inventory for Public Safety and for Emergencies. Bidders Must Submit a Price for the Product, for All the Specified Locations. Bidders Must Meet the Minimum Specifications For Sodium Chloride Product (Rock and Solar), Meet Other Specified Requirements of This Bid and Submit All Required Attachments No Later Than the Time and Date as Specified. Term of Contract All Proposals Must Be Firm and Continue in Effect for a Period of Two (2) Months From the Date of Bid Opening. Any Such Bid That is Accepted by the Department Must Continue in Effect for a Period of Twelve (12) Months After the Award the of Contract. The Contract Will Be Canceled if Funds Are Not Appropriated or Otherwise Made Available to Support the Continuation of the Contract.
