If the College is officially closed due to inclement weather, the bid opening will be postponed until the next business day at the originally scheduled time. The project is being bid as lump sum general contractor for renovation and addition scope of work for the building. All questions are to be submitted in writing to the attention of Debi Elezovic of Ramapo College of New Jersey at delezovi@ramapo.edu and Kostas Svarnas of Ramapo College of New Jersey at ksvarnas@ramapo.edu until 4:30 PM local time, October 27, 2023. Answers to these questions, and other revisions to the contract documents will be included in an addendum issued on November 1, 2023. Bids must be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier's check or Bid Bond payable to Ramapo College of New Jersey in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid. The bidder shall provide a Certificate of Surety from a company authorized to issue such coverage in the State of New Jersey. The bidder's surety shall state that 100% performance and payment bonds will be furnished to the successful bidder. A Prevailing Wage Rate Determination will be made a part of the final contract document. The scope of work includes repairs of the existing stairwells. Existing stair elements to be removed and replaced in kind. New stair elements are to be installed and painted as specified. Existing structural elements to remain are to be cleaned and painted as specified. Additional scope of work to included but not limited to the following: - Replace existing asphalt walkways including full depth subgrade install - Installation of sections of concrete walkway sections - Repair damaged pipe column pier concrete and seal - Perform associated electrical work (replace existing light fixtures, remove/reinstall conduits to perform stair work, etc) - Remove and reinstall security cameras - Blast clean existing concrete to remove rust stains within stairwells - Seal existing gutters at stair platform gutter termination points - Repair existing landscape with topsoil and hydroseed B. The extent of the contract work is indicated in the Contract Documents. C. The scope of the work shall not be limited to what is specifically called out on the drawings or specifications, but shall include any and all demolition, temporary work, cutting and patching, temporary protection and shoring, and all new work as required to accomplish the intended construction.
