The Austin Independent School District (herein after referred to as AISD or the District) is seeking bids from firms qualified and experienced in providing Fire Extinguisher and Vent Hood Suppression System Testing and Services. October 20, 2023 : Due date for questions by 2:00 pm October 24, 2023 :Questions and answers posted in AISD Proposers seeking clarification or have questions pertaining to this IFB must submit questions in writing through Electronically .Questions and Answers and all Addenda will be posted Electronically December 14, 2023 Tentative AISD Board meeting for review/approval Scope of Services and General Requirements 1. The bid invitation is for hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers, for recharging fire extinguishers and for vent hood/suppression systems on an as needed basis. AISD will occasionally purchase external replacement parts. Only UL listed replacement parts shall be acceptable. 2. All work shall be performed by licensed persons in accordance with national, state, and local regulations governing this type of work. By affixing signature on this bid invitation, vendor certifies compliance with the requirement. 3. AISD has approximately 8,000 fire extinguishers within the district. 4. AISD will be responsible for delivery and pick-up of equipment requiring service. Delivery and pickup will occur during the suppliers normal business hours. 5. All services will be required to be completed within three (3) working days. The vendor will be required to notify AISD if service time exceeds three (3) working days, or the cost of service exceeds seventy percent (70%) of the extinguisher replacement cost of the extinguisher. The agreement(s) resulting from this solicitation will be in effect for an initial term of one (1) year from the date of award, or such date established by the agreement. The parties by mutual consent may renew the agreement for up to four (4) additional one (1) year periods. In addition, the District reserves the right to extend the contract beyond the final expiration date, if necessary, to ensure no lapse in service.
