In conformance with the Competitive Bid Law of the State of Alabama, the City of Florence, Alabama, will accept sealed proposals to provide all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary for the 2023 Street Resurfacing Program, Florence, Alabama The work under this project shall include, but not be limited to, all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified in the approved bid documents. Bidders are requested to quote unit prices for the work as set out in the bidding documents. The unit prices shall be full compensation for all work required to satisfactorily complete the items of work involved. Bidders must place their Alabama State Contractors License number on the face of the bid envelope and on the bid documents. All work must be completed in accordance with the approved bidding documents on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent. The attention of all bidders is called to the provisions of State Law governing General Contractors, as set forth in ALA Code 34-8-1, et. seq. (1975), and rulesand regulations promulgated pursuant thereto. The City may not enter into a contract with an entity which is not qualified to do business in the State of Alabama. All bidders must possess all other licenses and/or permits required by applicable law, rule or regulation for the performance of the work. Pre-qualification of bidders is not required. Each bidder shall file with his bid a bond in the amount of not less than 5% of the bid amount up to a maximum of $10,000.00, payable to the City of Florence, Alabama. Each bidder must file either a cashiers check drawn on an Alabama Bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama. The successful bidder will be required to furnish, at the time of the signing of the contract, a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% the contract price. Also, a Payment Bond will be required in the amount of 50% of the contract amount. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids andto waive technicalities. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days from the date set for receiving of the same. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. $3,000,000-$4,000,000
