The Town of Gila Bend, hereinafter referred to asthe Town, through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Maricopa County CDBG Program, will accept bids from qualified firms or individuals with an A (A-2, A-3, A5, A-12, A-14, A-16) engineering contracting commercial license as registered with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to perform the following services: water distribution line installation, fire hydrant and valve installation, water meter and service line replacement, street pavement and concrete removal and replacement, and miscellaneous and contingent construction work, all part of the WILLIAMS STREET AND ALLEY WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT. This federally funded project consists of the replacement of existing waterlines along Williams Street between Harrington Avenue and Dodson Road and in the alley north of Hunt Street between Weidner and Johnny Streets, for a total length of approximately 2150 feet 1. Installing 8" C900 PVC Waterline 2. Installing new Water Valves & Fittings 3. Installing new 1" Service Connections 4. Installing new Fire Hydrants 5. Replacing Existing Meters (Contingent Item) 6. Remove & Replace Asphalt Pavement (3" minimum AC) 7. Remove & Replace Concrete Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk and Aprons The successful proposer will be required to lend all possible assistance in the preparation, investigation, and documentation necessary for compliance with all applicable federal Labor Standards/Davis-Bacon and other requirements of MARICOPA COUNTY CDBG PROGRAM. The successful proposer should be prepared to comply with all local, state, and federalsafety and environmental requirements. Bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany each proposal. Bonding companies issuing acceptable bonds in conjunction with this project must hold a certification of authority to transact surety business in Arizona as issued by the Director of the Department of Insurance. All bid security shall be made payable, without condition, to the Town of Gila Bend. Said bid security shall be considered liquidated damages and shall be forfeited to the Town of Gila Bend in the event the proposal is accepted and the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish the required bonds within ten (10) working days after the notice of bid award. The Town of Gila Bend reserves the right to accept the lowest, responsible bid; to consider alternatives; to reject any or all bids; and to waive irregularities or information in any bid. Bids received after the specified time of closing will be returned unopened. The Town of Gila Bend also reserves the right to hold any or all bids for a period of ninety (90) days after the date of opening.
