ENGINEERS ESTIMATE: $900,000 The proposal shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Imperial Beach, California, or if sent by messenger, shall be delivered to the Administrative Services Department, City Hall, 825 Imperial Beach Boulevard, Imperial Beach, California. The envelope shall be plainly marked on the upper left hand corner with the name and address of the bidder and bear the words "Proposal For" followed by the name of the item and the date and hour of the bid opening. Award will be made by the City Council at a meeting subsequent to the date above set for the opening of bids. Proposals received shall remain valid for 60 days from the bid opening date. In accordance with the provisions of Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, Article 2, of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council of the City of Imperial Beach has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages in the City of Imperial Beach of each craft or type of workman needed to execute the contract; also, the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work, applicable to the work to be done. The prevailing Wage Schedule is on file in the Public Works Department. The special attention of prospective bidders is called to Section I, "Instructions to Bidders" and "Proposal Requirements," for instructions regarding bidding. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity or informality in any bid to the extent permitted by law. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with both the provisions of Division 3, Chapter 9 of Business and Professions Code. Contractors shall possess the following California Contractor's licenses, or such other licenses as may be allowed by law, at the time of award of the prime contract in order to perform the work: Class "A". Subcontractors must possess the appropriate licenses for each specialty subcontracted. Each bidder shall submit a copy of its active contractor's licenses with the bid documents. All electricians who work on this project shall be State-certified and show proof of certification, prior to commencement of work. In addition to professional licensure, no bid will be accepted from a Contractor, or its subcontractors, without proof of current registration with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 of each Contractor and subcontractor identified in the bid. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that its business name appears in the DIR's Public Works Contractor Registration database prior to submitting a bid package. The DIR Public Works Contractor Registration database can be found online. This project is subject to continuing compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR.
