The Town of Sidney wishes to invite you to submit a proposal for the mowing of the Sidney Recreational Facilities, located on Recreation Drive, off West River Road in Sidney. Duration of the contract will be from mid-April thru October 31, weather permitting. Scope of Work: Mowing and string trimming of the sports fields and surrounding facilities to include, at a minimum: Mowing: o Mowing of all areas (with bagger or other vacuum system) so as not to leave any clumps of grass. o Clippings can be dumped on site. o Grass shall be mowed at a frequency to maintain a 3.0" - 3.5" grass height at all times and be left in a neat and professional manner. o This is typically every 5-7 days, weather dependent, but could be more frequent if necessary. o Grass will be mowed at a speed which allows a smooth and even cut; no "mohawks" will be left after cutting. o Care will be taken so as not to damage any grass when mowing; more specifically, scalping of the grass, or spinning/twisting of mower in any manner which tears or rips out grass shall not be allowed. o The lawn area along the edge of Recreation Drive shall also be mowed, along with the grass at the top of the hill adjacent to West River Road. o **These areas do not need to be bagged** Trimming: o String trimming of the entire facility, including: o Fence lines - If mechanical means are not adequate for keeping grass from growing up into the fence, the Town may request additional means, i.e., chemical treatment. o Around/under storage shed. o Around dugouts o Under/around bleachers (bleachers can be moved) o Inside batting cage during spring sports season -care should be taken so as not to cut netting. o Inside goals during soccer season (goals can be moved) Miscellaneous: o Bush hogging: o The field at the top of the hill near West River Road shall be bush hogged (or similar) at least twice during the contract term, typically June and August. This area is used for overflow parking. The Town of Sidney reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and waive any or all formalities, or to accept the proposal found to be most advantageous to the Town of Sidney.
