The Police Department Building (located at 600 S. Parkway Drive) is an occupied city building. The space for renovation is currently the garage, and work bay area, which is mainly used for storage. This expansion will be limited to this space. The city is seeking proposals for general construction, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work necessary to complete the Project, and the price to accomplish the work including the following renovation items Flooring and baseboards throughout the entire expansion of the Police Department Building; Sheetrock, tape, bed, and texture all newly constructed areas; Painting (trim, baseboards, walls, and ceilings-if not drop ceiling) Construct ceiling using Sheetrock, tape, bed, and texture newly constructed ceiling Install all new interior doors with matching hardware with existing office hardware. Construction period in calendar days within which the respondent proposes to complete the work (Calendar days not to exceed 120 days preferred); The City reserves the right to reject any and all responses that are submitted if the proposal includes equipment that does not meet the specifications stated herein Every question or request for interpretation concerning the solicitation shall be directed to Ben Moore, Assistant Chief of Police in writing via email at mooreb@cityofalvarado.org. All questions or requests for interpretation must be received by Thursday, October 26th, 2023 @ 5:00 P.M. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. If you are an interested contractor and wish to be listed as a bidder, please notify our editorial staff at addtobidlist@constructconnect.com. The city is seeking proposals for general construction, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work necessary to complete the Project, and the price to accomplish the work including the following renovation items: o Flooring and baseboards throughout the entire expansion of the Police Department Building; o Sheetrock, tape, bed, and texture all newly constructed areas; o Painting (trim, baseboards, walls, and ceilings-if not drop ceiling); o Construct ceiling using Sheetrock, tape, bed, and texture newly constructed ceiling; o Install all new interior doors with matching hardware with existing office hardware (offices); o Install solid core interior door with matching existing hardware (conference room); o Install solid core interior doors with matching existing hardware (for both restrooms); o Add R19 Batt Insulation to walls, R30 Insulation to ceilings; o Upgrade the existing 400 amp electrical service to accommodate new additions and future generator circuits; o Lighting, add 2x2 flat panel LED fixtures (Gym, Patrol room, all offices, storage room, conference room, garage area, locker rooms, all hallways, and corridors.); o Add electrical outlets per code (offices, Patrol room, Gym, Conference room, hallways and corridors); o Add fiberoptics, CAT5 or 6 as needed in all newly constructed areas; o HVAC, programable thermostats, R8 flex ductwork, all return airs, and exhaust fans should be mounted in the ceiling; o Plumbing, add showers (shower pans, tile floor to ceiling), commodes, and sinks, with an electric water heater, a grinder pump will be needed that ties into the existing sewer line(s); o Install Metal catwalk from exiting stairs to new construction (second story); o Restrooms need to be ADA compliant (i.e., wall hanging sink, railings, hanging paper towel dispensers, etc.); o Cut concrete if needed for sewer tie-in and fill-in; o Wrap all front elevation existing metal posts and flower boxes in cedar; o All estimates need to include labor, materials, and haul-off. The scope of work for the Project also includes: o Review of this RFP, any construction contract executed between Contractor and City, and any and all specifications, plans, or drawings for the Project (collectively, the "Contract Documents") for clear understanding of Project requirements; o Construction of the Project, including fees and necessary temporary work; o Coordination with the City throughout the Project; o Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations; o Acquisition of all necessary permits; and o Providing all required bonds and insurance.
