The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is soliciting electronic bids for supplying and installing a new prefabricated bridge over an UNT to Porcupine Hollow in Benezette Township, Elk County Duration: Upon award through 6/30/2024 The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is soliciting electronic bids for supplying and installing a new prefabricated bridge over an UNT to Porcupine Hollow in Benezette Township, Elk County. The scope of the project includes supplying and installing the bridge on cast-in-place concrete abutments (constructed by the PGC) at the prepared project site. Questions concerning project specifications and requirements should be directed to Angela Lindgren., PGC Engineering Division at 717-787-4250, ext. 73620. Any questions concerning completion of the electronic bid should be directed to PGC-Contracts and Procurement Division at 717-787-6594. Attached to the electronic project listing are Terms and Conditions of Project, Conditions for Construction Contracts. One drawing titled Site Layout/Profiles is also attached. These enclosures are part of the bid. All bids must be submitted electronically All vendors who conduct business with the Pennsylvania Game Commission must have a Vendor No. assigned to them to receive payment from the Commonwealth. This is a Department of General Services (DGS) ; Bidders must contact DGS directly with any website concerns or issues. A bid guarantee or bond is not required. A location map is included on the drawings. The Commonwealth reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technical defects in bids and to accept or reject any part of the bid deemed in the best interests of the Commonwealth. Except as otherwise provided by law, award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. A Purchase Order will be generated at the time of award without further input from the successful bidder. Awarded vendor will be sent a copy of this document and no work will be authorized until the vendor is in receipt of the Purchase Order. The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is requesting bids for supplying and installing a prefabricated bridge over an UNT to Porcupine Hollow on State Game Lands #311 in Benezette Township, Elk County. The bridge will be set on cast-in-place concrete abutments which are to be constructed by the PGC. The abutments will be 4' x 4' x 14' reinforced concrete with steel bearing plates and/or anchors installed according to the bridge manufacturer's instructions. The bridge will be set along a stabilized roadway on the Game Lands. The bridge will be delivered and installed by the supplier on the project site. The PGC will have the area graded and prepared for installation of the bridge. The site is approximately 1 mile from a paved public road (Winslow Hill Road). The bridge shall have a 100-foot overall span length (96-foot between center of bearings), a 14-foot minimum width between guide rails, and shall conform to the following requirements: 1) HS25-44 Vehicular Load Capacity 2) 45-ton, 5 axle combination vehicles 3) The bridge is to be designed in accordance with the AASHTO Standard Specification for Highway Bridges using load factor methodology. 4) Treated nail laminated, S.Y.P deck system with 2" x 6" Pressure Treated Wood Decking attached to the steel beams with galvanized or stainless-steel clips/fasteners. Pressure treatment shall be at least "ground contact." 5) 10 MPH Speed Restriction for bridge design 6) All steel construction using 100% weathering steel (ASTM A588 and ASTM A847 tubing) 7) Wide flange steel bearing stringers (gauge compatible with bearing load) 8) Full dimension steel end plates (back walls) of minimum 3/8" thick steel provided at both ends to eliminate the need for a backwall on the concrete abutments. 9) Full length guide railing on both sides of bridge, minimum 27 inches above deck level. 10) Painting of the steel components of the bridge is not required. 11) Bridge must be longitudinally hinged or of modular construction, for transport on common carrier. 12) Bridge fabricator shall have at least five years of experience in the design and fabrication of bridges and be able to demonstrate successful completion of three projects of similar size/scope/complexity. The PGC reserves the right to request information on company history/experience, profiles of similar projects and references from the low bidder.
