The RMOW requires a hydraulic and geomorphological engineering analysis of sediment accumulation, and the impacts of this accumulation on the ability of the Fitzsimmons Creek diking system to provide protection against the design flood event. TIMELINE: Requests for proposal for contract administration and hydraulic design services, has been issued by the owner. The successful proponent will use surface water profile modelling to recommend sites in the creek for gravel removal in 2024 to re-establish the minimum freeboard for flood protection whilst also providing contract administration services to facilitate the gravel removal works. Notice of Award December 10, 2023. Post-removal completion report October 15, 2024 The RMOW has an option to extend this contract for two one-year periods for 2025 and 2026. If the RMOW chooses, the contract for the future year will be negotiated in October of the previous year once the final report has been delivered.
