The Town of Nantucket, through its Town Administration, is requesting qualified bidders to submit applications for the Town Administration Exterior Building Renovation Project. SCOPE OF WORK: The Project consists of exterior renovations/upgrades to three Town-owned buildings. Work to include, but not limited to: selective demolition of exterior windows, trim, gutters, shingles, and exterior light fixtures; installation of new exterior wood windows, trim, gutters, shingles, and exterior light fixtures; painting of windows, trim, fascia, gutters, rake boards and doors. General bidders must be DCAMM certified in the following categories of work, General Building Construction, and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. Each General Bid and Filed Sub-Bid shall be accompanied by the Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Bidder's maximum Bid Price. The successful General Bidder and each selected Filed Sub-Bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds, and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 5 days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and holidays) following notification of the Bid acceptance. Construction can begin on December 1, 2023 and must be completed by June 1, 2024. Bidders should be aware that overnight mailing services do not guarantee overnight service to Nantucket. Late postmarks will not be accepted. No less than the prevailing wage rates as set forth in the schedule contained in the Contract Bid Documents must be paid on this project. The Town of Nantucket encourages the hiring of local Nantucket contractors and labor for this project. Any questions on the bid documents during the bidding period shall be directed to Chief Procurement Officer, Brian Turbitt (bturbitt@nantucket-ma.gov). Project Location: 16 Broad Street; 20 S. Water Street; East Chestnut Street / 20 S. Water Street Nantucket, Massachusetts 02554. Project Description: The project consists of exterior renovations to three Town-owned buildings. The general scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: o 16 Broad Street (Town Hall) - Remove existing wood double-hung windows and surrounding exterior trim (sill, jambs, & head) and replace with new wood double-hung single pane replacement windows. - Sand, prime and paint of any rusting steel lintels once the existing windows are removed. - Remove and replace exterior light fixtures. - Paint new windows and surrounding trim. - Paint existing eave molding, fascia, wood rain gutters, rake boards, front door, and other existing trim. o 20 South Water Street (Sheriff's Office) -Remove and replace any deteriorated roof rake and eave trim. - Remove existing metal roof gutter (on South side of the 1-story portion) and replace with wood gutter. - Remove and replace exterior light fixture. - Sand, prime and paint any visible rusting on the steel lintels. - Paint existing window trim, eave molding, fascia, wood rain gutters, rake boards, front door, and other existing trim. - Installation of the cupola (alternate). o East Chestnut Street / 20 South Water Street (Former Clinic Building behind Sheriff's office) - Remove existing wood double-hung windows and surrounding exterior trim (sill, jambs, & head) and replace with new wood double-hung single pane replacement windows. - Remove and replace existing wood gutters in kind. -Remove existing exterior wood shingles that have deteriorated. Replace in kind. - Remove and replace exterior light fixtures. - Paint new windows and surrounding trim. - Paint existing eave molding, fascia, wood rain gutters, rake boards, front & rear door, and other existing trim.
