As of October 19, 2023, funding is being allotted. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. A detailed scope has not yet been released. $5 million for new water projects secured U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) has announced $1 million in federal funding for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) to design a wastewater recycling system for Boulder City and $5 million to lay the groundwork for a joint water recycling project between SNWA and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWI)SC) that will leave more Colorado River water in Lake Mead for Nevadans. Cortez Masto created the first-of-its-kind, large-scale water recycling program in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and it will ultimately provide water for more than 500,000 homes in the region. Southern Nevada currently recycles over 990/0 of its indoor wastewater, and SNWA is working to expand reuse to include outdoor water use. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
