This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will enable the City to determine Respondents’ capacity and resources, skill and relevant experience for eligibility to participate in upcoming competitive solicitation processes, for Engineering Consulting Services for the City’s Parks Capital Projects Program The City is requesting submissions for prequalification of qualified professional consultants for services to design and construct City infrastructure from January 2024 to December 31, 2026. The City’s Parks Capital Projects may include: Parks architectural design and construction of park and public green / open space, park and master planning, urban design, research studies and field services. The City currently follows a two year capital plan with the intent to develop 10-20 year plans in 2024. The following examples provide indications of the type of projects the City anticipates as part of the Parks Capital Projects over the next several years. Any assignments are subject to change based on Council direction of budgetary requirements: Park Playground Improvements. Estimated construction value of $210K The components and surfacing in several City parks have reached the end of their service life and no longer meet Canadian Standards Association Children’s Playspaces and Equipment standards or the City’s Accessible Playspaces Policy. The project scope includes updating the play structures and installing typical sized play areas (2500 sq.ft max) with accessible rubber fall surfacing. Playground improvements are tentatively proposed for upgrading a number of locations over the next several years: Eastern Dr Park, Birchland Park, Nacht Park, and Cameron Park Athletic Field Upgrades . Site investigation of subsurface, and design of base material and drainage. . Design and install of synthetic turf carpet. . Design and construction of sports courts or multiplex such as lacrosse rehabilitation or renewal .
