The City of Independence, Missouri requests the submission of proposals from qualified Vendors for Water Meters. As part of this RFP the City is seeking to replace their existing water meters ranging in size from 5/8" to 8". The meters in the size range of 5/8" to 4" are to be replaced with an electronic, solid state meter which is to be powered by an internal battery. The 6" and 8" meters will be replaced with a meter similar to what is existing per the installation. All meters shall meet or exceed the specifications herein. These meters are to be installed, by others, inside of a pit/vault/well or within a basement, crawl space, or other suitable location on the premises. The details of these installations are included in Attachment 4. The plumbing connections of the proposed meters must match the existing conditions found at these locations. The electronic meters provided must also be capable of communicating, connecting to, and compatible with the communication protocol of multiple Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) providers and platforms including point-to-point (PTP), mesh or cellular networks. The compatibility of the proposed meters must be demonstrated through past projects utilizing the bidders proposed meters.
