The Town of Penfield Department of Public Works is hereby seeking a qualified contractor to provide general construction services associated with the replacement of the exterior stairwell at the Penfield Town Hall in the Town of Penfield. The area to be renovated consists of approximately 200 sq. ft. The purpose of this project is to improve the structural integrity and of the stairwell and allow for safe use to access the lower level and Auditorium. The project primarily consists of an excavation along the existing concrete masonry block/brick walls in order to remove and replace the footing, CMU walls, concrete stairs, and railings. Steel man doors at the bottom of the stairwell will also require repair and/or replacement. The work involved shall restore the area to a safe and like new appearance. All materials and supplies for the associated work shall be supplied by the contractor. The contractor shall provide an anticipated start date, commencing work within fourteen (14) days of their Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed no later than June 1st, 2024. The Contractor shall assume all expenses incurred in connection with performance except as otherwise provided in this agreement. If permits, governmental approvals or licensing is required to perform the services provided, the contractor agrees to apply for, obtain, and pay, any expenses for such permits, approvals, or licenses. This is a prevailing wage contract and the Town of Penfield, as the contracting agency, is responsible to insure that prevailing wages are being paid to any and all employees who work on this project. The contractor is required to provide the Town of Penfield a certified payroll audit, which shows hourly wages paid to all employees. The Town Board reserves the right to waive any informality in the bid, or to accept or reject, any or all bids and to be the sole judge of any equivalencies. If you have any questions regarding the intent of this bid or individual specifications, your request for information shall be submitted in writing and a written response will be issued. If the questions are related to the project specifications and if there is a need to amend the specifications, an addendum will be written and all bidders will be notified.
